The living micro-organisms in soil are working continuously to maintain a pH balance. Take care of your living ecosystem using Organic Start soil amendments, and there shouldn’t be a real need to adjust the pH of your soil!
With that being said, the pH of soil does impact the growth outcomes of plants – and significantly so. If pH is too low, or too high, the soil microbiome suffers and ‘dies off’. This can cause nutrient deficiencies, impacting the growth of plants in soil. This is why monitoring and measuring pH levels with a meter is an excellent idea. Healthy living soil will generally exist in a the range of 6.0 – 7.0 pH. If the medium is sitting below 5.6 pH, consider making further amendments using Seabird Guano Phosphate
