Coconut Coir

Coconut Coir is a natural fibre made out of coconut husks, and a renewable alternative to peat moss. The extraction of coconut fibre husks results in a byproduct, often dubbed ‘coco pith’ or ‘coco coir’. When the coconut pith block hits product maturity, it turns a distinctive dark red.

Organic Start’s Coconut Coir is a NOP Registered Organic product in the United States, and a 100% natural growing medium. Our Coconut Coir is triple-soaked by monsoon rains for 18 months (while on the ground), and dried in the sun to Ultra Super Wash™ the coconut fibre – ensuring salt content is below 0.5EC, with a pH of 5.8-6.5, for optimal medium conditions.

Coconut Coir makes an excellent growing medium for hydroponics, and works wonders for growing plants in containers.
